Technology for Welfare Project

In contemporary society, it is not only our lifestyles, but also our sense of values that are becoming more diverse. While living in such a modern age, we solve challenges and flaws that we sometimes feel using technology, we propose new ways of living and aim for a future filled with hope.
This project handles extensive contents concerning our “welfare situated closely” and is not just limited to “welfare in a narrow sense of the word” represented by welfare for the disabled, etc.
On the other hand, the frequency of natural disasters has increased, and it is thought that the scope of receiving harm is amplifying. Under such threats, it is thought that of course to guard one’s life from disasters is crucial, but a method to live positively is also necessary during disasters. This project also tackles “disaster prevention” as one of its themes.

Research Plan

Each member decides on a theme and delves into the issue through regular discussions with professors and other students. We will provide opportunities for visits to related organizations and exchanges of opinions if needed. “Disaster Prevention without Preparation” will still be the main theme, however, you do not need to be confined by this.?

We will also continue with the “Wide Welfare Technology Project (tentative title),” an online gathering place mainly for people who are involved in welfare, which has been held since 2020.? Participation is encouraged if you have time (tentatively to be held every Friday).

While proceeding with consideration of the opportunities for the public disclosure of our research, the main activities planned for FY2024 are as follows:

  • Development of XR teaching materials for disaster education with the Gifu Prefectural Ogaki Special Needs School.?
  • To hold work educational material workshops such as causal SW at other schools?
  • Beginning the “Wide Welfare Technology Project (tentative title)”.
  • Introduce our activities at the Open House

We will also establish opportunities to present at academic conferences.
