Introductory Classes

Media Creation Foundations 1 (Introduction)

This introductory class helps students gain the skills that define an IAMAS education: interdisciplinary academic knowledge and practical ability. They will present their past, present, and futures in a variety of forms. What they did in the past, what they want to do at IAMAS, and what they will do in the future…they will express their present, reflections on their past, and vision for the future. After this, they will discuss with one another; based on the advice from their instructors with an attentiveness to the work’s connection to society at-large, they will learn how to put these expressions into a more tangible format. Students will investigate such questions as: How will I organize and verbalize my past “work?” How will I express my present self? What do I imagine my futures to be like? In a week, each student will search for possible answers to the question of “why did I come to IAMAS?”
