Professor

Maebayashi Akitsugu

Akitsugu Maebayashi has sought to understand hearing and sound as an interaction between body and environment, and to present work that questions the state of our perception through technological interventions into that relationship. Now, he is engaged in creating devices that evoke the imagination in regard to the connection between place and the body. His representative works and exhibitions include “AUDIBLE DISTANCE,” “Sonic Interface,” “Mono to Oto, Kuukan to Shintai no tame no Yottsu no Sakuhin,” “Container for dreaming,” “OKINAWA NOISE MAP,” and “Basho wo Tsukuru Tabi.”
